# Choosing an authentication method

Every Tyro Connect API call requires authentication. Which method you use depends on your integration.

POS
There are 2 ways to integrate with Tyro Connect, and choosing the best way for you depends on the type of infrastructure you have deployed. There are 2 types of infrastructure that Tyro Connect supports:

2. **[POS Instance Connection](#pos-instance-connection)**


### POS Cloud Connection

If you are implementing a POS Cloud Connection you are required to use [client credentials authentication](/docs/getting-started/authentication/client-credentials).
