Surcharging is ending
As per Oct 1st 2026, Tyro will stop supporting surcharging. Any non-zero surcharge amounts for payment requests will be ignored.
Surcharges are applied to transactions only if it has been enabled for the merchant.
If surcharging is enabled there will be a option for the customer to view the surcharge rates before they tap their card. When a transaction has been processed the surcharge amount will be returned in the response.
